The short version
Treat the person on the other side the way you would like to be treated by a stranger. Be honest about who you are, don't pressure anyone, and leave when a call isn't working. If you can manage that, you will rarely need the rest of this page.
What is not allowed
- Harassment and hate. No insults, threats, stalking, or targeting someone for who they are.
- Sexual pressure. Nobody should be pushed to do or show anything they don't want to. Sexual content isn't allowed on calls.
- Anyone under 18. Minors are not allowed on the service. If you suspect one is, end the call and report it.
- Scams. No requests for money, gift cards, crypto or off-site payments, and no fake emergencies.
- Sharing other people's information. No doxxing, no screenshots or recordings shared without consent.
- Impersonation. Don't pretend to be someone you aren't in order to deceive.
- Spam and automation. No bots, scripts, ads or links pushed at strangers.
- Anything illegal. Don't use the service for unlawful activity.
Be who you are
You don't have to use your real name, and you don't owe anyone your life story. What you shouldn't do is pretend to be someone else to get something from a stranger: a different age, a borrowed photo, a made-up emergency. Honesty about the basics is what lets everyone else relax.
If you're using a nickname, say so. If you'd rather keep your camera off, tell the person you're talking to instead of leaving them guessing. Small courtesies like these are most of what "friendly" means on a call.
Cameras, screenshots and consent
Whatever appears on a call belongs to the person it shows. Don't record it, screenshot it or share it without their agreement, and don't ask someone to do something on camera they haven't offered. If you are asked to, you can say no and leave. Nobody is entitled to your image.
Reporting in good faith
Reports work because they are honest. Please report what really happened, and pick the closest reason. Using the report button to settle a disagreement or to target someone you simply didn't like makes it harder for us to find the serious cases. If you're unsure whether something counts, report it and add a line through the contact page.
What you can expect from us
Every call has Next, report and block. When a report arrives we look at it, and repeat or serious violations can lead to restrictions or removal from the service. We can't see everything that happens on a call, so reports matter. Reporting and blocking takes a few seconds.
If a rule is broken
- End the call. You don't need permission.
- Report the person and block them.
- If you want to add detail, write to us through the contact page.
Consequences depend on what happened. They range from a warning to permanent removal. We may also act where the law requires it.
A note on how rules change
We will update these rules as the service grows. When we do, the date at the top of the terms changes too. If a rule here ever feels unclear, ask us. A clear rule is easier to follow than a long one.
